Refund Policy

Fourteen days from purchase. Ask, and you get your money back.

The policy

If Boardsmith Pro is not what you needed, ask for a refund within 14 days of buying it and I will refund it in full. You do not need to justify yourself at length; telling me what went wrong is useful to me, not a condition.

Why I offer one at all

Because the paid half is the one part you cannot try first. The free version is the entire editor, so what a licence actually buys is the pre-press output — and whether your print shop accepts that PDF is unknowable until after you have paid. "Pay and hope", from an unfamiliar seller, at $59, is not a fair offer. This is the answer to that.

Before you ask, try me

Most rejected print files are one setting away from being accepted, and I would rather fix it than take your money back. Email support@boardsmithapp.com with what the shop told you. If I cannot sort it out, the refund is still there — asking for help does not use up your 14 days.

How to ask

Email support@boardsmithapp.com from the address you bought with, or reply to your purchase email. Purchases are handled by Freemius as merchant of record, so the money is returned by them, to the payment method you used. Their processing usually takes a few working days after I approve it.

What happens afterwards

• The money goes back to the card or account you paid with, including any VAT that was charged.
• Your licence key is switched off, and the app drops back to the free version at its next check.
• Everything you already exported stays yours. I do not reach into your disk, and the files you made keep their licence — see Terms of Use, section 3.
• The free version keeps working, with every update, for as long as you want it.

The limits

• Fourteen days from the purchase date. After that, get in touch anyway — if something is genuinely broken I would rather hear about it than not.
• One refund per person. Buying, exporting and refunding repeatedly is not what this is for, and I will decline a repeat.
• A discounted or founder's-price purchase is refunded on the same terms, for what was actually paid.
• Please write to me before starting a chargeback. A chargeback disables the key just the same, costs me a fee, and takes you longer than an email would.

Your statutory rights

If you are a consumer in the EU or the UK, this policy sits on top of the rights local law gives you and does not replace them.
